Cozy Coastal Town Now Home to Pinball Palace

The Pinball Palace

Sometimes life surprises you in ways you could never imagine.

We moved to the small beach town of Brunswick, Georgia almost 15 years ago. My wife and I were looking to escape the congestion and traffic of the Washington, DC area and move to a more family-friendly town.

I never missed the DC area much, but I did miss the pinball scene a little.

The DC area had some local tournaments, I had pinball collector friends nearby, and it was never hard to find deals on pinball machines for sale.

In Brunswick, the pinball landscape was completely barren. I lived here nearly a decade before I met someone else in town who was into pinball.

Also during my time here the mall arcade shut down, the bowling alley arcade got rid of both pinball machines, and the few restaurants that used to have pinball machines got rid of them.

Brunswick, Georgia was a total pinball wasteland.

I am happy to report those times have changed.

Brunswick Georgia is now the proud home of The Pinball Palace.

Rock n Roll Pinballs

It has a pretty epic sounding name, and The Pinball Palace lives up to it.

Open for a few months now, owner Kelley Daniel has been adding new machines consistently. He is on a pinball-buying spree like a man on a mission and now has 100 pinball machines to play.

Since it’s opening, The Palace has added two more rooms of pinball fun and the giant space is loaded wall-to-wall with glorious pinball machines. All are in very good playing condition. Many of the games look and play like new.

And Mr. Daniel is not just adding machines to add machines. He has cream-of-the-crop pinball machines and not just games that come cheaply. The number of $6,000 and higher valued machines on location here is amazing.

Kelley estimates he has about 70 games on location at the moment “with another ten at home and 5 or more on the way.”

I know you are wondering…so what is on the way?

I am told that Kelley has the following games on order:

  • Monster Bash Remake

[editors note: The Pinball Palace basically gets EVERY new machine that comes out. They now have well over 100 pinball machines]

If you have young children be aware they have a bounce house area on site to keep the little ones entertained. This is separate from the pinball area; so don’t worry about screaming kids while trying to get into a pinball Zen.

The Pinball Palace is a family business run by very friendly people. They have plenty of parking and there is never trouble finding a game to play.

The Pinball Palace is the largest pinball arcade in Georgia and maybe the largest in the South. It has to be considered a prime pinball destination in the U.S. now.

So in addition to our uncrowded beaches and the world’s best shrimp, you now have another reason to consider booking a trip to Georgia’s Golden Isles.
